Meet Dr. Ronald M. Achong
Dr. Achong was born in Trinidad & Tobago and raised in Canada. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with honors from the University of Toronto and his Doctorate in Dentistry with honors at Harvard University. Dr. Achong obtained a Medical Degree and received a certificate in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from Louisiana State University after obtaining extensive training in facial trauma, jaw reconstruction, dental implant procedures, facial cosmetics, oral cancer, and corrective jaw surgery.
Research and charity work has always been an integral and meaningful part of Dr. Achong's career. He has published several textbook and peer reviewed medical journal publications on topics such as dental implant treatment, osseointegration, maxillary sinus bone grafting, and implant treatment in medically compromised patients. His dedication to the community is demonstrated by his commitment to organizations such as Dental Care Access Foundation Inc., an organization offering treatment to patients who are unable to afford dental and health services.
Dr. Achong is an active participant in local, state, and national organizations and continues to bring the latest advancements in technology to his practice by participating in regular continuing education. He is a Diplomate of the American Dental Society of Anesthesia and a Board Member of the Academy of Osseointegration's membership and awards committee. He is board certified by the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and maintains active memberships in the American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, and Lake County Dental Society. Dr. Achong holds active dental and medical licenses in the State of Florida and holds dental licenses in New Hampshire and Canada.
Dental implants and bone grafting are clinical focus areas for Dr. Achong. Additional interests include facial reconstructive surgery, oral and maxillofacial pathology, facial trauma surgery and non-invasive facial cosmetic procedures.
